"And here you come with a shield for a heart
and a sword for a tongue."
ABOUT
There are plenty of bands of sellswords that are in it for the money. Some are in it for the thrill; some are in it for the coin. The Paladins, however, are in it for honor.

Based in Seabreeze Sanctuary on the coast between Breakwater and Honeyreach, The Paladins are a group of swords-for-hire available to those across the kingdom that are in need of their services. Be it a simple task at hand or a daunting feat that only a band of seasoned warriors could accomplish, The Paladins aim never to turn away anyone in need. Though they do charge for their services, most of this coin goes towards the upkeep of the group’s lodgings and their equipment, usually with just enough to spare to line members’ pockets with a small sum as well.
RULES
IN-CHARACTER
☼ Anyone Welcome!Any canines or felines with a desire to become a full-time Paladin need not worry about having former experience! Tarragon is willing to give basic training to just about anyone who asks, and several of the group’s more seasoned members are usually more than willing to lend a helping paw as well. The policy of “anyone is welcome” stretches beyond this as well. Anyone is welcome, including those with disabilities. If you’re unable to carry out the more traditional duties of a Paladin, the group will still find something for you!☼ LawboundPaladins are under the strict constraints of the law as they carry out their tasks. This may sound like an obvious rule, but the Head Paladin sees it as particularly personally important, namely when it comes to ensuring that Paladins don’t consider themselves to be vigilantes or punishers of crime. This is an organization meant to protect and serve the people, not to bring vengeance upon wrong-doers.
OUT-OF-CHARACTER
☼ Honorary Paladin ActivityAnyone who takes on Honorary Paladin role for their character must partake in a Paladin-related thread at least once every year (this obviously excludes absences or special life circumstances). This isn’t a rule for those with Paladin characters because it’s assumed you’ll be writing in Paladin threads anyway!☼ Ideas & SuggestionsThink of another way your character could be involved that isn’t already listed? Ask me! I (fawned) would love to hear your ideas and help you think up a way for you and your character to be included!☼ InspirationsThis group was based off of the Companions in Skyrim! If you need ideas or want to understand the energy of the group more, I highly suggest reading up about them.
ABOUT
The Paladins are a fairly new group, finding their origins in Tarragon, their very first Head Paladin. Tarragon was formerly a bounty hunter for the kingdom who, upon becoming disillusioned with working for the capital, decided to strike out on her own and form her own organization that works in a manner very similar to bounty hunting for the kingdom, only with a focus on the maintaining of honor and morals, with a greater emphasis on freedom to pick jobs as one pleases, rather than a focus on just “getting the job done.”Tarragon wanted to expand upon the services that she and those of her ilk could offer. In addition to bringing in notorious criminals, the Paladins offer services more oriented towards those in need as well, from retrieving lost items to seeking out missing loved ones. Jobs are filled as needed by Paladins with varying levels of experience.☼ Twinsies!Upon becoming a Paladin, full members of the group are given a set of Paladin armor (use of this armor is optional!).
☼ Birds of a FeatherMessenger birds are recommended so that Paladins can send messages both back to the Sanctuary and to each other, but they are unfortunately not provided.☼ By Land or SeaTarragon somehow managed to acquire a small boat for the Paladins. She's named it the Kraken's Fury--a horribly ill-fitting name--and it is free to use for all Paladins, though many prefer to just pay to travel by another boat if they must that'll get them where they're going faster.
RANKS & ROLES
☼ HEAD PALADIN (1/1)The Head is the Paladin in charge of the organization as a whole. They are the ones to receive requests for aid both in person and by mail, and are the ones to decide which tasks the group will take on, as well as which ones they will not. Though any Paladin may take on one of the group’s simpler tasks, more difficult and dangerous jobs require the Head’s approval before being undertaken.
☼ PALADIN (unlimited)The core role of the group, being a Paladin means that the Paladin undertaking is your career and your life. Paladins reside within Seabreeze Sanctuary, spend their days trawling Nevriande’s cities and shores, and often spend what little free time they have drinking and feasting with their fellow Paladins back at home. To be a Paladin, one must truly be motivated by a sense of honor and a willingness to do good by others, as the lifestyle one faces in this group can be grueling, is sometimes dangerous, and doesn’t pay too awful much to compensate.Paladins don’t have to be fighters! This group is always looking for blacksmiths to craft their weapons and armor, healers to patch up their injured, etc.
☼ HONORARY PALADIN (unlimited)These are Paladins who, though they may stop by the Sanctuary once in a while to take on jobs, generally live their own lives and have their own careers outside of the group. One must be generally skilled in combat and weaponry to be considered for this role, as the Head Paladin doesn’t want just anyone to be able to go out and face danger head-on willy-nilly, and those who are only at the Sanctuary occasionally are likely to not benefit from the training the Paladins provide.
TASK BOARD
This task board, posted inside the Seabreeze Sanctuary, details the jobs currently available to any restless Paladins looking for something to do, or for coin to line their pockets with.
DM me or ping me in #rp-discussion to claim! If, hypothetically speaking, you take on a scenario and want someone to play the criminal involved in it, feel free to ping @npc on call! You’re also more than welcome to look for someone who will want to write their actual criminal character with you. One-shots are also acceptable. If you can’t find anyone to partake, I, fawned, always will! Just lmk :)
